Brandon Babbles.....

DISCLAIMER: My 5 year old has a sassy, not-so-well- mannered mouth lately.

I decided I better start writing some of the funnIER things Brandon (Beezer) has been saying lately before it all becomes a blur.

On the way to Preschool
B: Mom, will you put my jacket on and zip it up?
A: No, it's warm, you don't need your jacket on.
B: Mom, I told you to zip up my jacket!
A: Why? It's hot!
B: Because...I don't want anyone to see me in my garments!

After my visit to Chicago without Brandon
B: Mom, how many sleepies until Holland and Ethan come to our house?
A: (I show him with my fingers and hands and then Haili makes a chain calendar with 30 paper chains and hangs it all over his room)
B: Okay, then how many sleepies until I leave on my mission? Will you make a chain calendar in my room for that?

In the car, getting an icecream cone
B: Mom, if boys have a penis, what do girls have?
A: They are called vaginas.
B: Oh...kind of like the place called China?
A: Exactly
B: Mom, when can I go to China?

After school
B: Mom! Look, I have a pimple!
A: Oh, that is such a cute pimple Beezer! Do you want me to take a picture of it?
B talking to Michael: Michael, why don't you pop your pimples and put the stuff on my face so I can have more. You already have enough!

In the car
B: Mom, do you know who the President of the United States is?
A: Yes, do you?
B: It's Barrako Hinckley...we have a picture of him at school

Leo & I watching our favorite show...listening to Mason scream his head off in bed
B: Goodnight Mom and Dad. I am going to bed so Mason will stop crying.

Us looking in on Mason's room and discovering that Brandon had ended up cuddling his little brother so he wouldn't cry. A very RARE moment between these 2 little stinkers...but so worth it!

Something to think about on those TOUGH days...

I heard this quote at Church today and thought I would post it:

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." —

Buenos Dias Bogota

Where has Leo been these days you ask? Well, let me tell you....he has been basking in the Bogota beauty while I am at home raising 2 little hellians (Brandon and Mason).

About a year ago...Leo and I had a deep conversation about me quitting my job at JB to stay home (I already work from home, so not a huge difference) without having to worry about getting my JB stuff done on top of all the rest of the chores I have in my glorious life. I was soOoooO close to quitting, like seriously putting my 2 weeks notice in the next week when what appears in my email inbox: "JetBlue beginning service to Bogota, Colombia."

That exact second this message appeared, I knew that my exsistance at JetBlue would be permanent for the REST of my life because Leo is from COLOMBIA. And what are the odds that JB would have started service to South America to begin with? And to be even more far-fetched, who would've thought they would've started in Colombia? Hello...drug capital of the world! But, being the good wifey I am, I forwarded Leo the email and of course, he was exstatic. He has lived in Utah for almost 20 years and has only been back to visit once, about 7 years ago because I surprised him, and we flew there and spent 1 lovely month in mostly paradise...aside from the hijacking at the airport when we first landed.

Anyway, Colombia is a beautiful country, the people, the city, the Andes Mountains and all the lush, green cocoa plants....and Cartagena, where Romance and the Stone was filmed, one of my favorite movies of all time. And yes, Leo and I visited there and reinacted the dancing scene in the moonlight like Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner did (Leo even wore a white linen shirt for me that night, it has got to be the most romantic night of my life to date). But more than anything, my Bunny was really, really happy to be able to go back and visit, and visit for free.

Our life, like many lives these days has taken a little turn and we have had to be a little creative with our finances since Leo owns his own business...and thanks to our BFF's a new business venture presented itself. Leo had the brilliant idea of taking this business to Colombia, which means he is gone 2 weeks out of the month to his beautiful birthplace and I get to break up fist fights, screaming matches and headbutting contests. All in the name of love and support for my Bunny. I hope he appreciates it....after all, his famous sentence these days are, "In a year from now Amber....". I hope he is right, that in a year from now all he hopes for will have happened. And most of all I hope he will be able to co-ref the fighting matches with me and be home for good.

To that beautiful city, I am not liking you much right now....although I do plan to visit you come April, so take care of my Bunny for me until then.

Adios!

And thank goodnes for Skype
